High School Bible Study

In 2008, Yesu Ni Bwana, Inc., began a partnership with Matama Beach High School in Matama, Tanzania. As Matama Beach High School has grown, so has our Bible teaching program there. Today, over 600 students, Form 1 through Form 4 participate in weekly Bible study as part of the school curriculum.

In Janurary 2017 the Bible Study program was expanded to include a second large High School, Nyasa Lake Shore High School. Today more than 750 children attend weekly Bible study at Nyasa Lake Shore High School.

Traditional demographics on religion in Tanzania indicate that about half the population claim Christianity, about 40% follow the Muslim faith and 10% follow Animist or traditional tribal religions.  Tanzania is a Democratic Republic and has had both Christian and Muslim presidents.  Throughout most of Tanzania there is still support for teaching Biblical Christian values in the public schools.  These efforts are not supported financially by the Tanzanian government but are welcomed if supported by non-profits and other Non-Governmental Organizations.   To that end, Yesu Ni Bwana in cooperation with our Tanzania advisors and partners has developed a Bible Study Curriculum for high schools with the specific intent of teaching a Biblical, Christian world view.  We have also developed a training curriculum to teach pastors how to implement and teach the High School Bible Curriculum, with a view toward expanding this program.

Every child who professes Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior receives a new Swahili Bible and is mentored toward finding a good local Bible teaching church.

Each year at Easter many of our students attend a large regional Christian youth conference with great speakers, choir contests and Bible memory drills.
